Dear Customers,

I hope you, your colleagues and your family are doing well amid the unprecedented challenges around the world. COVID-19 has turned our daily routines, lives and businesses upside down. These are extraordinary times and while we have always prepared for unforeseen situations, nothing came close to what we have been dealing with in these short two months. As countries around the world are making progress in combating the pandemic and businesses are slowly opening up, I would like to reach out and update you on how we have been approaching this situation at Delta Apparel.

.

Below are just a few examples of our COVID 19 response:

  • We have distributed personal protective gear, such as masks for our employees, and ensured an abundant supply of hand sanitizer and soap at all of our facilities, offices and retail stores.

  • We have implemented enhanced cleaning procedures, disinfectant spraying and temperature checks across our operations in Mexico, Central America and the United States.

  • We have strictly followed all published local government and health guidelines for manufacturing operations such as how to handle check point inspections, implementing employee transportation safety measures, on- site medical team protocol, etc.

  • We have made numerous facility updates—from redesigning our production floors to create additional employee spaces, marked floorings for established distance, to new efforts in constant disinfectant spraying, specially designed sanitation apparatus, etc.

  • We have invested in creating a series of educational campaigns such as videos, professional talks, printed materials aimed at creating awareness and emphasize the importance of observing all possible safety measures to combat the virus.

  • We have increased our communications with our employees through frequent updates of the health emergency and made available an employee hotline for additional support.

Our top priority remains committed to the health and safety of our employees and the communities we serve. We are glad we have been able to remain open throughout the last two months to support your business needs and the needs of your customers. I want to ensure you that our operations and manufacturing processes are carried out at our usual optimal standards. On behalf of all of us at Delta Apparel, we are committed to being your partner and persevering together in all the days and years ahead.

Sincerely.

Bob Humphreys,
Chief Executive Officer/Chairman of the Board

Delta Apparel Shifts Production to Produce Cotton Face Masks to Help Fight Spread of COVID-19

GREENVILLE, SC – April 14, 2020 – Delta Apparel, Inc. (NYSE American: DLA), a leading provider of core activewear and lifestyle apparel products, today announced that it will leverage its manufacturing facilities to begin producing cotton face masks. The Company has joined a coalition of iconic apparel brands that are responding to urgent calls for companies to help produce face masks during the COVID-19 global pandemic. Once fully ramped up, the coalition, inclusive of Delta Apparel, expects to produce up to 10 million face masks per week in the United States and in Central America.

Robert W. Humphreys, Delta Apparel, Inc.’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, commented, “We are extremely proud to offer the resources we have available for the manufacture of face masks to help support those hospitals and health care workers on the front lines, as well as all Americans battling the spread of COVID-19. We have already begun production of the face masks in our sewing facility in North Carolina and expect to begin production in Honduras this week.”

The U.S. Center for Disease Control recently issued recommendations on wearing cloth face coverings in public settings where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain, such as grocery stores and pharmacies, and especially in areas of significant community-based transmission. In addition to the production of face masks with the coalition, Delta Apparel is also producing and selling non-medical grade face coverings.

Mr. Humphreys concluded, “We are proud of our dedicated workforce who wanted to participate in these efforts and quickly took on the challenge to retool our production lines to begin making these masks and face coverings. Of course, the safety of our employee base is of utmost importance to us. We are following the recommended protocols within our facilities, including providing face masks for our employees to wear, implementing social distancing protocols, and increasing sanitation and cleanliness measures.”
